Kevin Miao, Principal, Head of Credit Mr. Miao is Head of Credit at BlockTower Capital Advisors LP, with primary portfolio management responsibilities for the BT Credit Funds. From 2014 through the beginning of 2021, Mr. Miao worked at Citigroup, most recently as a vice president in the structured credit trading division. Mr. Miao led a trading desk that primarily covered (i) non-mortgage asset backed securities and whole loans ranging from conventional (i.e., automobiles, credit card receives, student loans) to esoteric (i.e., railcar, whole business, marketplace lending); (ii) legacy ABS CDOs, SIVs, and RMBS CDS; and (iii) commercial real estate CLOs, managing an approximately $2,000,000,000 combined book across all asset classes. Following his time at Citigroup, Mr. Miao became Director of Operations at Capchase, a Series A fintech startup that lends to SaaS and other recurring revenue companies. At Capchase, Mr. Miao was primarily responsible for the development, refinement, and automation of the core underwriting and risk management processes. In addition, he co-led negotiations for an upsized $275,000,000 senior secured credit facility, with his work helping Capchase raise a Series B at a post-money valuation of $780,000,000 in early 2022. Mr. Miao earned a B.A. in economics with a minor in mathematics from Bowdoin College, and was enrolled in Harvard Business School pursuing his M.B.A. until he withdrew to lead BlockTower Capital Advisors LP’s credit team.
