R. Brent Mattis, CFA, CAIA is a Principal at the Cleveland Clinic Investment Office. He joined Cleveland Clinic in 2017 with responsibilities including manager sourcing and due diligence, secondary purchases and market research. He has underwritten managers in credit, special situations, real assets, systematic macro and other complex niches. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic, he was Senior Analyst at the Rainin Group, a New York City-based family office where he spent six years executing fund and direct investments. Brent began his career as a Research Associate in the drug discovery group of Rigel Pharmaceuticals. He received an MBA with Distinction from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BS in Chemistry from UC-Berkeley.
