Mr Waskiewicz is a mission-focused leader with nearly 30 years of financial services, investment advisory and CIO experience.
Mr. Waskiewicz most recently served as Chief Investment Officer for Mercy Health (St. Louis, MO) managing the AA- rated health system’s $3B investment program. Mr. Waskiewicz joined Mercy in February 2010 as the system’s first Chief Investment Officer and was charged with creating a top-performing investment program. Under his leadership, Mercy generated strong risk-adjusted returns earning industry recognition, including Institutional Investor – Investment Committee of the Year (2018) and Investor Intelligence Awards – Healthcare Plan of the Year (2015). Tony was named Healthcare CIO of the Year by AI-CIO (2018), Healthcare Chief Investment Officer of the Year by Institutional Investor (2014) and is ranked on Trusted Insight’s Top 30 Healthcare CIO list. Tony is currently ranked #31 on AI-CIO’s Power 100 CIO list.
Mr. Waskiewicz hired and mentored an award-winning investment team at Mercy. Several team members have earned individual industry recognition including “Rising Star” honors by Institutional Investor and “Top 30 Women Rising Stars in Institutional Investing” by TrustedInsight.
Prior to taking on his first role as CIO in 2004, Mr. Waskiewicz spent fifteen years in the financial services industry advising clients and working with and learning from industry leaders at Morgan Stanley, T. Rowe Price, Evergreen Investments and Mercer Investment Consulting.
Mr. Waskiewicz is a member of the CFA Institute and the St. Louis Society of Investment Analysts. He is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry conferences and has served on the advisory board for various industry associations and conferences.
Mr. Waskiewicz is an active volunteer and supporter in the St Louis community. He currently serves on the investment committees for the Missouri Health Foundation and the Mid-American Transplant Association and is a supporter of various not-for-profit and performing arts venues in the community. Mr. Waskiewicz recently completed his term as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School in St. Louis, from which his two daughters graduated.
