Finding 03, Shown in Full
Insurers and banks are doing the diligence. Endowments are not.
At Global Alts New York 2026, insurance companies devoted 22% of their confirmed meetings to private credit and banks 21%. That put them well ahead of every other LP type. OCIOs followed at 15%, and most other groups clustered between 11% and 12%. At the low end, endowments gave the strategy just 2% of their meetings and private sector pension funds under 1%. Interest in private credit is broad. Active diligence is concentrated in a few rooms.
In that environment, manager skill is not a marginal advantage. It is central to outcomes.
