Weifang Zhu is Chief Data Officer of iConnections, with oversight of the firm’s data, insights, machine learning, and data governance strategy. She has held various leadership positions in publicly traded and growing technology companies with a focus on the intersection of technology, finance and complex marketplace dynamics.
Prior to iConnections, she was the Executive Vice President of Global Data Solutions at Moneylion (now a part of Gen Digital – Nasdaq: GEN), reporting to the CFO and President and Chief Product Officer. She led and oversaw the company’s global data practices, insights, and data commercialization strategy spanning across the US and regional staff in Asia and Central America. With extensive experience in scaling organizations and driving growth through a data-driven culture, Weifang is a seasoned operational leader in the world of finance and technology.
Having joined Moneylion through the Even Financial (now, Engine by Gen) acquisition, Weifang held a key leadership position during the merger process, leading the M&A process and subsequent integration efforts to achieve milestones towards a $60M annual synergy plan. As the Chief Operating Officer of Even Financial, she had functional oversight over the company’s finance, business intelligence, data science, legal, risk, security and operations functions, and also provided general oversight over the company’s people, product, and go to market strategies. During her tenure, she drove 10x P&L growth of the business, raised several financing rounds, and managed the business to profitability while balancing the needs of the board, investors, and company constituents.
Prior to her time at Even Financial, Weifang held leadership positions at Nautilus Labs (a maritime optimization and analytics software company) and Hearsay Systems (an omnichannel digital marketing software provider, now part of Yext), where she collaborated closely with Fortune 500 companies and their C-suite to advance digital innovation and the adoption of new technologies. Before joining the technology sector, Weifang held investment banking positions at Barclays, where she advised large US Energy and Renewables corporations on their capital and financing needs.
She has worked with the executive teams of publicly traded companies spanning financial services (Morgan Stanley), maritime (Teekay Shipping), and energy (ConEdison) to drive both technological and also financial restructure initiatives. Her expertise in data science, analytics and quantitative strategy has been instrumental in identifying opportunities for growth and driving efficiencies in these organizations.
Weifang is a graduate of Wellesley College in MA and is based in New York City.
